***1998 4x4 E250 Sportsmobile EB Penthouse Top*** $37,950

This is a rust free, Fresno, CA van, I got from the original owner.

I built it to use for a rental business in Baja - which we didn't do - sounded to be too much like work.

It only has 85,500 miles on it with less than 2,000 miles since 4X4 conversion last year.

I arrived at the asking price by adding up the retail cost of the 2WD SMB, 4X4 Conversion and all of the accessories. In other words, if you bought this as a 2WD and brought it in, this is what it would cost you, but you don't have to wait!

It is available without the Aluminess bumpers (just installed) for $4,000.00 less if that helps - I have the factory chrome bumpers for it and I can always use the Aluminess elsewhere.

It has the 5.4L Triton V8.
Agile Off-Road Dana 50 Twin Traction Beam Long Travel 4X4 system.
Borg Warner 1356 Electric Shift On The Fly Transfer Case.
Semi-Float Dana 60 with Factory Limited Slip.

Extended Body with "Walk Through" Goucho design and Penthouse Top.
Fiamma Awning.
Aluminess Nerf Bars

I'll get more pictures and features in later. I am only listing it here on the Sportsmobile Forum for now and it will be at the San Diego Meet and Greet on Saturday.

This is a great way to get into a 4X4 SMB for a reasonable price.

Just spent some time in this van and it is very clean and runs great. Even snuck in a 20 minute nap to verify the Goucho is comfy....and it is.

Also the stripes are green and not blue. Hard to tell by the photos.

***1998 4x4 E250 Sportsmobile EB Penthouse Top*** $37,950.00

I finally got around to taking some more pictures and also realized that it didn't have some of the features that I thought it had, so...

I have lowered the price to $37,950.00!

This is a very clean van and nice layout with lots of storage - perfect for your first 4X4 SMB.

Review for Ramsey:

I drove and checked this rig out in detail about a month ago. It drives GREAT and is in really good shape. I was surprised to feel like the 5.4 was plenty of power for my needs. Also, the ride quality can't be beat. I'm so happy/unhappy that I got to see what an Agile 4x4 rides like! Happy because I've tested an SMB, UJOR, and Advanced and it is the most comfortable hands down (to be fair with UJOR riiiight behind it - a bit different purposes I'd say). Unhappy because now I can't buy one without Agile 4x4 or at least an RIP kit haha. Anyways back to the SMB...

You can tell it was babied by the previous owners. A little bit of shrinking in the edges as to be expected. Storage beast because the counter runs all the way to the back with big open storage doors. It is green all through out. Definitely retro but it has this funny charm about it and I actually love the stripes. Ramsey also put a nice new dash/doghouse in. Overall, if you are looking for a good condition, 5.4, with the most comfortable 4x4, and no feature maintenance to deal with this is your rig. I was a frog's hair away from going for it but I want an open storage back and a bigger lower bed badly.

Thanks for showing me the ropes Ramsey, glad our paths crossed!

Hey Ramsey, does the SMB have CC and if so does that gauge cluster have a cruise control light? I have the same style in my 03 and looking to add CC and am wondering if I need to get a new cluster. Great looking van btw

It does have Cruise Control, but no light - not sure when the light was introduced, maybe 2004.

I took a deposit in on this van so it is no longer available.
