2002 Sportsmobile. Agile 4x4. 5.4L

2002 E-250 Sportsmobile. 5.4L V8. 187,000 miles. 4x4. It’s an incredible adventure rig. We are only selling it because it’s tight for all 4 of us to sleep in, as my teenage kids are now adult-sized. And we have an opportunity to get a full sized dually with a giant cab-over camper. We’ll miss the van so much.
$47,000. Located in Durango CO.

The good:
-Agile 4x4 conversion. Locking Hubs. Transfer case recently sealed.
-Drives and starts great. Plenty of power even up hills. Don’t believe the 5.4L haters. It’s solid.
-Fox suspension
-alignment is great.
-pop top
-solar w/ 2 house batteries
-propane belly tank runs furnace. Works great.
-Newish TruckFridge130 (IndelB)
-Newish BF Goodrich t/a ko2 all terrain tires
-full size spare on aluminess holder
-aluminess ladder
-thule roof rack
-price includes everything seen. I’m open to Negotiations but would keep bits (bike rack, outside rafting table, roof top box, etc)
-sink and gray water tank
-we use a 5gal cube under the sink and a brilliant little battery powered water pump. The original h2o system was removed by previous owner and current system works great.
-Newish kenwood stereo with apple controls and USB connections
-switch to run stereo off house battery.
-stove and cabinet the stove originally sat on was removed to make it more spacious. We mostly cook outside anyway.
-I made a custom fold-up cutting board cabinet in its place. See pics
-propane tank direct hook up to stove either in or out.
-4 interior spot lights changed to led bulbs
-custom sewn rear gear net
-all windows (except for 1 rear) have blinds.
-gaucho folds out and sleeps 2 (it’s TIGHT for 2 teenagers!)
-2 can sleep up
-4 seatbelts (waist only) across gaucho
-both front seats swivel, though driver side only goes barely past 90*
-no major rust!!
-Onan generator! But, I’m told it needs a new choke. It wants to start but doesn’t stay on. It’s mounted under the rear where the original spare tire went
-Starcool AC system.
-Fiamma awning w/ no tears.
-Oil changed every 3000 miles
-Slide out food pantry.
-includes cable to connect to house 110v
-tons of storage (I have the closet door that was removed from the shelves)
-

The not so good:
-she’s no garage queen. Little dings and dents. plasti-dipped black bumpers have places they’re peeling. A jackknifed trailer dented a side panel a bit. (See pics)
-a bit of rust above the windshield (see pics)
-you may want to get new house-batteries soon (they work, but last trip we ran the furnace pretty much all night and the fan drained the batteries down).
-the original e250 interior lights don’t work. I was told it was an easy fix but havent had a reason to address it since there are lots of LED lights everywhere.
-small tears in the fabric of the pop top. Addresses with clear tape. Not really an issue besides cosmetics
-A/C works but not really when going up hills. I was told there was an easy fix for this but have not addressed.
-both arm-rests on front seats don’t work.

I’m sure there is more im forgetting (both good and bad!). Feel free to ask questions.

When logged in, click on Sportsmobile photos at the top of the page....scroll to the bottom of the page to find your photo album.

Click on photo album then click "upload pics"

Upload pics...once uploaded to your photo album, click on a picture and copy the BB code link below the picture and paste that into your post.

It helps to resize pics to around 1500x1100 or so before uploading.......

Voila!

Price Police: feel free to chime in. Pricing was determined by some folks on the Sportsmobile Owners fb group.

Van has a lot of potential for the right person. Agile 4x4 being number one for anyone who has spent time driving one. You can’t have them convert a van anymore so that is in your favor.

Generator is fairly easy to remove and service. I will be pulling mine soon to service it and have done it a few times before.

What gearing is in the axles? Any lockers or limited slip?

Does the starcool work on 12v and when plugged in?

Does it have an inverter?

For the right price someone could get a great base van and make the changes they want.

Not sure on what the price should be but it might be a bit high based on the needs and condition of some things. You never know though someone with money that wants the Agile might pay it.

Let us know if you have other questions.

Thanks. My gut-feeling is that it’s priced a little high. I’ll bring it down a bit.

I’m not sure of the gearing in the axels. I do have paperwork from Agile so maybe that info is in there.

Yes, starcool operated last summer. Both when driving or plugged into shore power.

I lowered price to $47,000 and open to offers/negotiations
