How much do you know about your tires?

I thought I knew almost everything, generally speaking, about AT tires. I was wrong. I learned a lot of things from this video.

Check it out!

I'm sorry I have had my SMB for almost 20 years. It's a 4X4 made for and used off road.
End of discussion. There is no compromise when you weigh 9,000+and traverse sand, rock, mud, snow, ice etc etc,
You buy the best off road tire "you" can afford or don't use your vehicle for what you bought it or what is was made for.

Good vid. I picked up some knowledge about the steps taken to make the tires quieter. Always wondered why the tread blocks varied so much, now I know. Thanks Eric!

I am surprised they didn’t go deeper into load ratings though.

One thing I’ll add that I haven’t seen any tire video touch on. Zero industry standard for sizing or compound. If there was, sizing tires on a specific vehicle would be way easier. Treadwear compounds not being universal isnt nearly as important, but it would be nice if one 300 treadwear tire actually wore like another 300 treadwear rated tire, but again, that would be tough to standardize as companies have their own special compounds they use thanks their determine longevity.
