Something you don't see every night
Check out the odometer in these two pictures. It's something you don't see every night. The truck is a 2006 Volvo, my current work rig.
Before anyone gives Fred a call and rats me out for using a camera while I was driving, let it be known I was parked on the side of the road for this photo op.
What's gonna happen when I roll forward another tenth?
A cool Million Miles

Re: Something you don't see every night
Are those miles all yours? All on that same truck?

Re: Something you don't see every night
I put 300,000 miles on a 1978 Subaru Wagon and I thought I was bad. A million on your work rig?! How long did it take?

Re: Something you don't see every night
The truck is a 2006 which makes it 7 years old. That puts an average of 142k a year on the clock. I've only been driving it for about 15 months so somewhere around 100k of those miles are mine.
I share the truck with someone that works the morning shift. I'm a PM guy. The last truck I was assigned that rolled over a million happened on the AM drivers watch. I didn't get to see that one roll over.

Re: Something you don't see every night
Thats very cool I would have stopped and taken pictures too.
I had an 87 Jetta GLI 16 valve I bought new and it had 333,333.3 the last time it was something cool but it was 14 years old when it happened and I sold it after that. Suzann also had an 87 GLI 8 valve she bought new as well that had over 330,000 when she sold it.
Thanks for sharing your odometer with us...
...Jamie

Re: Something you don't see every night
Gnar, very cool that you caught it on camera! I don't want to talk 'down' to any of the folks on here that aren't esteemed.............um...........truck drivers , but I remember before I started driving when I thought a million on a diesel was a lot. We've got several with a 1.3 million and rolling, and they're still suprisingly still good, tight, strong rigs! What I'm gettin' at is, even though some diesels give folks some trouble at relatively low miles, they're designed to run a long, long, long time. 200k on one of these diesels in a van is nothing. It's just that the chassis start rusting away and falling apart long before the motors..............IMHO. Has yours ever been rebuilt that you know of? I don't think very many of ours have.

Wow! At first I thought it was your Sportsmobile that hit a million miles!
Still very impressive!
