Vandiesel, no peach pie I am afraid.Sadly, it has been many years since there was a basque restaurant in Jordan Vallley. A nice little place opened up a couple years back, but soon after it burned down..

If you go down Hwy 31 as Thorne suggested, Summer Lake Hot Springs is a good place to camp and soak. A low key commercial development. And if you are going to see Fort Rock you should check out another geologic feature in the area, “Crack In the Ground”. About 30 miles east of Fort Rock. Geology buffs love it.

Tried to PM you, but I can’t see that they went through. If you are serious about your trout fishing, don’t mind some seriously rugged roads, and truly want way off the grid, let me know, and we can talk.

If you’re in the area don’t miss the Solar Eclipse the morning of Oct 14, 2023. https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/october-14-2023 The zone of totality enters the US around Coos Bay/Eugene, cuts across Crater Lake, Great Basin NP, then into Utah, Four Corners, and then exits the US around San Antonio/Corpus Christi TX. See map below. It’s an annular ‘Ring of Fire’ eclipse.

Instead of staying at Crater Lake I‘d choose Diamond or Crescent Lake or even Irish Lake. Quieter, nicer and as the Lake is high up you can‘t see the lake from Manzanita CG.

In addition Oregon has nice OBDRs around Crater Lake.

I somewhere found this spot for camping south east:
42°31'37.2"N 117°10'57.8"W
Pillars of Rome, Owyhee Canyon and and Slocum Creek CG are also S/E Oregon.

I went through there last year on a solo trip. Knowing that I missed a taco truck is rather distressing. I try to hit every one I pass.

I can't vouch for the tacos, but the food truck in Boulder had the best breakfast burritos I've ever had (twice). The food truck is actually a turquoise school bus called Magnolias.
