What year was the donor van?
When the rear roof lintel and the "roll cage" is properly welded to the body the side walls retain a lot of their original roll over or upper body strength.

There was only 1 fiberglass door extension when I got the roof. I had some aluminum ones made up, Which I like better as its a little more secure. The inner "roll cage" did come with the roof. and is bolted through the the body. I actually cut just above the windows off on the Donor so I could take my time and do it exactly how it was done by the previous person.
I drive 5km up a gravel road every day for work and have not notices any difference in structure (Fingers Crossed)
As for the donor van I believe it was the same year as mine. Could be wrong, I sat on the roof for a year as I had a VW pop top and was torn between the two.
