6.0 Diesel Van project (Built Motor)

Hey guys!

Ok So last may I pulled the trigger on my second van after living out of my self converted E-350 handicap van for 4 years. And after a very long year of waiting for parts, and waiting for my cousin/mechanic to move shops, and more time waiting for parts, and lotttttt long nights filled with blood, sweat, and tears, my new van drives and is on the road!

This was basically a balls to the wall project, the body was coming off to do significant motor work (heads and “bulletproofing”), so it kinda snowballed into a “let’s replace everything but the frame and body” build, complete with a 6” 4-link 4x4 swap with coil overs 😎

Annnnnd then my motor ended up being bad (I bought a non running 6.0L ford, so I guess I should’ve expected that), so I bought a new motor! And a new transmission…

And about $35,000 worth of other parts….

So check it out and give me that sweet, sweet, dopamine.

Here’s the build List!

All the work was done by me and my cousin who is a Diesel Mechanic.

And Idk if Tim’s on here, but I got the 4x4 kit through him at Timberline Vans 🤘

Looks like you guys did a nice job and spent loads of cash. I have trouble getting in and out of mine with 4 inch lift. Do you have any plans to install an elevator?

Dude right!?

It definitely ended up being higher than I was expecting, apparently I’ve been measuring 6” wrong my entire life 😂

I think last time I checked, I could’ve just bought a 2023 f250 limited? But that’s lame so I built a cool van.

I have the timberline stuff on mine as well. If i recall correctly back when they were first putting together the coilover setup Tim stated they would be right around 8 inches of lift. I have actually considered installing RV electric fold down steps under each door on my rig and its only half the lift of yours.

What he said, nicely done. We know about slippery slopes here.

I’d love to install the AMP research running boards (electric fold downs) but they’re expensive af, and they don’t make them for vans, so it’d be a totally custom project.

A few folks around here have modified the F-series Amp steps to work on the E series.....

I have a rare set of the van, specific AMP steps that I would love to get installed. I’ve had them for several years and have been unable to find the time or the person willing to tackle it.
