Re: Baja Post Trip Report....
You have some real talent with that copter Brent.
My buddy Mark that was looking for the ride down to explore the Salcipuedes Canyon will be down there in about three weeks. We had talked about how a copter setup like yours would be perfect for scouting out the best route down some of the bouldery pinch points he's going to have to negotiate. As I understand it, there is an iPhone app that lets you view the camera footage as you're flying? Is that true and have you worked with it?
Looking forward to more footage!

Re: Baja Post Trip Report....
You can connect through the iPhone for realtime viewing but the range is poor and I rarely use it. Occasionally I will use it to just line up the beginning of a shot sequence but for the most part it's a pain.
I have a full remote viewing setup for the chopper but I don't use it either.
On our full-size Octocopter we have a two person setup with two controllers. One to operate the camera and one for the pilot. That way that i can concentrate on camera position while my pilot work the chopper.

Brent, the shot of the van going down the beach is magnificent. Would you mind telling me where precisely that location is?

That was where we camped the first night and would have stayed the second, but with only 4 vehicles, and all of them 4X4, we took everyone to our favorite secret spot, The Bluff, just south of town. Aired down, the vans and all made it in, but the Toyota needed a tug. There are so many beautiful places in Baja where you are free of "You can't do that"!

So silky smooth when you pan the camera around.

Re: Baja Post Trip Report....
What an amazing trip! The girls and I had such a great experiance it's one that will always be remembered that's for sure. Thanks to Ramsey and Jan for making it possible for us to explore Baja and getting us back out LOL! Thanks to the rest of the party Brent, Maryellen, Carol, Linda, Claude and Andrew for the great times hanging out at the camp fire and eating fish taco's and Margarita's won't forget it.
Will add some pics and more once we have a bit of time.
