Fees for Diablo are $10 at the South or North Gate entrances, and yeah, the big lower parking lot would be cool.

There is also quite a bit of parking at the Mitchell Canyon lot (not as much driving), or the Macedo Ranch one. Both $6. Not sure how crowded it gets on weekends in May though.

May 11 is still better for me.

I might be all tied up on the 11th. My wife claimed the entire weekend.
The 18th works better for me.
I am in a home built so If I have to park on the other side of the lot...well ok

I guess it's up to Erik, the thread starter, to make a decision if it's a go on the 18th or not, and where.

I'll be at Mt. Diablo on the 18th @ 9AM.

If the Summit Lot is full or busy, I'll probably be parking in the big lower lot here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/37...4d-121.9194397. Never been there before (And Google Street View is only 12 years old), I presume that lot is open year-round.

11th worked out to be a bit of a crazy day for me, apologies for disappearing. Not sure how long I will be able to stay- have an appointment with an optometrist in San Anselmo around 11-11:30, but I might just throw the towel in on that. I don't need a new pair of glasses that badly, and I'm sure I can always call him up and tell him which pair of glasses I like

I've just put it on my Calendar. Let us know about that optometrist appointment; I might not make it up there by 9 am but I could be there by 10 am.

Between last post & now I've concluded I'm not going to be going to the optometrist- I think meeting this group will be more fun than sitting in traffic and squinting, trying to read random little letters.

I'm sure I'll bring enough coffee with me to stay until 10 or 11. With any luck, I won't spill it all before I get there! (I guess that's why they make lids for coffee cups, but who uses those?!)

Just got the new mirrors on the van... they look good when parked, I guess the test will be how they hold up hitting bumps/wind resistance on the freeway at 65-70.

I'd suggest meeting at the lower lot, maybe after visiting the top. There aren't many spots up there, and it gets crowded. And in local etiquette it's kind of used more for short term parking, so a bunch of vans with tops up and people hanging out would be a tad uncool.

I'll try to make it a bit after 9ish.
