PCOR Washington - Tips along the way?

Hey guys

End of June we’re heading on a 2 week trip to finish the northern part of the PCOR (Pacific Crest Overlanding Route). We heading as quick as possible up to Bellingham, WA, and from there have about 8 days to get to Hood River.

I generally have the route, but wanted to see if you have some tips for nice camp spots, small offshoots of the main track, things we shouldn’t miss out and similar. Happy to be at a lake, river, creek or at a nice viewpoint on the top.

Vehicle:
E350 with Weldtec’s 6”, 35’s, locker, winch.

Here is the route for those who don’t know it:

We loved exploring the Winthrop, Twisp, Mazama areas, gotta stop into the Mazama general store for some goods, great little communities and so many amazing hikes in and around the North Cascades to hidden alpine lakes, there’s also of course the PCT, 8 days is not enough time to take it all in!

Garage
Try to time it to avoid major tourist areas/highways on the weekends. And watch the weather, this Spring is wet.
