Another weekend trip, this time to Yellowstone. The weather didn't cooperate much but still had a good time. Quite a bit of rain and wind on Saturday and even a little snow. But Yellowstone on a bad day is still good.
Stayed at Madison campground both nights. Got in late and was up early each day so not much of a camp, just a place to park for the night legally in the Park.
Some pictures of the SMB parked at the campground and a few of the sights around Yellowstone.
This coyote crossed the road right in front of me. Didn't seem to be too worried that I was nearby.
Lower Falls on the Yellowstone River.
Antilope in the Lamar Valley.
Bobby Sock Trees. These are dead Lodge Pole Pines that leach the minerals from the hot springs water.
Got too close to a snow plow pole. You know the kind that mark the edge of the road for the snow plows? These were fiberglass. When I heard it hit I thought it would only leave a little paint or a scrape mark on the van that would easily buff out. It did, and it came right off with the wipe of my hand, but it also busted the lower portion of my window. Ouch! I would tell you all how it happened but that would just be reliving a spupid moment on my part. I'm sure my wife won't let me forget about it for a while.
I'm assuming Fresno can send me one and I can replace it. Does anyone know if you can replace just the bottom piece or will I have to have the whole window replaced? It is tinted plastic or some kind of lexan I think. Has anyone else had to replace a window like this?
Broken window and all, it was a good weekend. Always good to get out and enjoy Mother Nature.
