This is how many l brackets they used for my tiny transformer galley. No wonder it’s expensive. That is a lot of labor judging by how it took me to unscrew them all!

Starting the replacement galley now.

Got the interior panels out this morning. Pretty excited as I got an ex local van builder to come moonlight next week after work and help wire things up before cabinets. It’s pretty much like for like except the combo tripp lite unit SMB uses.

I think I’ll just put the water tank under the sink instead of storage and run grey water out the bottom. I only had 4.5 gallons originally and I never used it. When I bought the van I was told the filling system never really worked.

Between the print, I detect optimism and enthusiasm...I'm sure you initially had to overcome the reservation of tearing into all that. Expect you're now excited knowing soon you'll be "creating" to achieve your vision. Hope it all goes smoothly! Subscribed so I can follow your project.
FWIW: I was excited to see all those brackets - kinda explains why my 2006 has no rattles.

Yeah the back half took way longer. At first I had reservations about this portion but then it turned to mass anxiety when I cut out that cabinet. I guess I am optimistic. Some of the remodels on here are so amazing and inspiring that I keep that in mind every time. I have a folder on my phone of about 30 pictures of ideas from all the sweet builds. Mine should come out awesome.

More progress. I’m really pleased with the board and how compact everything is. I gotta say the SMB wiring and methods left very little to be desired. The new setup really cleans it all up. No way driver side scheel-Mann seats can swivel in case anyone was wondering. Cabinets are coming along also. Click image for larger version

I've come to appreciate the versatility of the Transformer floor plan - wish I had the ability to "open up" some space on occasion - would have come in real handy. Are you migrating away from that with your refresh?

I mostly am. I can still pull the motorized sofa bed out and back cushions easy. That leaves me decent cargo space but not like it was. The older I get the more I want the cushy build out. I’d call my plan the ‘45’ instead of the ‘50’. We’ll see when it’s all complete. I may have gotten out over my skis a bit. It’s the: “well if you are going this far you might as well...”. It’s like that when I take the van off grid any distance. I always want to keep going.

Got the pantry in. I made the bottom shelf hinge into the void below for a little secret storage. It came out great. I see why no one is getting rich in the custom van cabinet business. Next up sink base, drawers, and the fridge. It’s getting close.

I also got all the electronics working and we powered it up and it works perfect. I love that the blue sea and the new charger just trickle down to 1.1 amps. The new xantrex pulls .4 in idle mode. Not bad. The old SMB combo unit pulled 1.4 just sitting there.
