Buji, thanks for doing the leg work. I would also be intersted in purchasing one of these when they are available.

Yes Buji thanks, I'm in. Maybe SMB themselves might supply some added push. I would think they would be interested as well as potential buyers in adding these as an option. Sometime big numbers help to get things done.
Good luck!

I bought one of the Stant brand locking gas caps. They suck! Anytime someone tries to open it at a gas station I have to intervene.

I'll be installing the door latch soon and going back to the stock cap. They are available in stainless for boats.

It works, it's cheap and you don't have to lock it between fill ups on long trips.

I installed a locking fuel door that I found online from TruckCustomizers.com. It's called a Billet Fuel Door. There were no listings just for vans, so I went with a F250/350 cover and had to modify it a bit. That included drilling some holes in the frame around the tank cap for new 1/4-20 stainless fasteners. I ditched the little useless bracket that came with the door. This took a little engineering, but is a much better install. The mfr's part is #6050KL, and the sellers part # is R4ALS63.4B. Item costs $104.73 last year.

Not all the screws you see are functioning. Just the left and rightmost four actually fasten the door to the van. Others are just to look cool.

I just bought a bolt up locking door that I posted about on this site.

No drilling and its a 15 min change out. SMB did the install because I was there and they had 4 on stock... 125$ installed. Looks the same as Jeffery's.

Got rid of that terrible Stant locking gas cap and installed the lock in the fuel door. See my gallery.

Sorry guys, I totally dropped the ball on the AMI door. Basically the last time I went in there the discussion changed to how many thousand I would like to purchase, as they didn't want to sell a handful of product to individuals.

Didn't do any follow up to see if they introduced a product into their regular line for distributors that would work without tweaking.

billet Fuel Fill Door

They are now able to produce the unit's for our SportsMobiles , and can be purchased thru SportsMobile or other after market sources . The best source would be thru www.billetcandy.com as they are right down the road from the machine shop , and are familiar with the product line .
I am very happy with mine and have four other people with van's that have purchased them thru a couple of our local Off Road stores .
