Need help in AC rebuild on 2006 E350 5.4

Hi there!

After a long and nasty New York winter its time to deal with broken Air Conditioner unit. I tried to block rear AC but freon leaks anyway. Its hard to find propper leakage spot and i decided to buy new parts. Went to rockauto web site and still trying to figure out what parts is exactly needed. Lets see what in my cart now. Sure all of items are aftermarket : Evaporator core, Condenser, Receiver-Drier, O-rings kit, AC oil, Suction pipe that goes to Condenser from compressor. But. I am not bypassing the rear ac unit, i am going to build a single front ac unit only. Trying to find propper pipes and still could not find the right parts. Hoses are so different=) If someone had that kind of built using the new parts, please help me to build the list of parts. Thanks!

Is this blocking you've already tried a factory rear A/C system? How and where did you try to block the refrigerant flow?

Is there a bus or limo service company nearby? What A/C tools and experience do you have?

I'm guessing it's a Starcool system? I really think you should find someone who can find the leak. If you ditch the rear system, you might find it was a problem with the stock equipment. But I understand how vulnerable the rear Starcool system is...just that more that can go wrong.

I'm with JWA, if you're going to dump the Starcool system, go back stock.

I had issues with mine loosing pressure and found out it was the Ford compressor. Had it replaced and so far it has been working correctly.

You can also check out HVAC semi truck repair shops.

Hi ! I asked my friend to weld a block-off caps for rear line. They are good and leakproof. But i guess that something was wrong under hood. Took off the core, and put it into bucket full of water. Inflated it and it was good, no sign of leakage. Too much connections, because line is soooo long. So i decided to remove everything old and replace it.

I have totally removed it. Now there is a space for diesel heater. I dont need rear ac unit anymore. Its hard to find a good specialist even here in a NYC. They are too expensive or too stupid. =)
