Re: New Deaver Springs
My trip to Deaver hinges on taking some kids to Dissyland, and that depends on the weather. Right now I just finished clearing 18" of fresh snow off the driveway. Someone remind me why I didn't stay in Baja.
Just got a message from a friend down there wanting me to bring more sunblock. I hope they get sunburned.
If I don't get to Deaver on the 16th it'll be the 30th. Maybe we'll run into each other pjpvi.

Re: New Deaver Springs
We're looking at another 78º day here in Denver. I'm just glad the garage is cool, and I really ought to get my camo shorts out before I work on the van anymore...

Re: New Deaver Springs
"Hi Deaver, my name is Scatter. Please install those springs right away and bill me for the balance. Yeah, the van weighs a little different that I originally said, and I decided to paint it red instead of the tan it used to be, but just hurry up and install those springs please"

Re: New Deaver Springs
I was going to suggest the same thing but adventureduo is closer , this might make for a MINI MEETING and then we could all go to Disneyland with Scatter .

Re: New Deaver Springs
For those heading to Deaver to get new springs/shocks, please let us know how everything goes.
I've discussed doing the same with Jeff, and am hoping to get down there for a one-day installation of everything in the near future. Time is very scarce now, so making multiple visits just won't work for me.
Thanks
Rob

Re: New Deaver Springs
I set up my whole Deaver thing via email from Baja. Jeff was very helpful and just wanted some photos, my existing heights, and then the front and rear axle weights, which I got as soon as I hit the border. He said a one day installation should be fine. I'll post how it all works out, but to date the hardest part was writing out the deposit check.

Re: New Deaver Springs
Scatter -
Looks like I'll be down there the week after you. Glad they can get all the bugs worked out on your installation so mine goes smoothly! Bummed I'll miss meeting you though.

Re: New Deaver Springs
I just talked to Jeff and my springs are ready for installation. I'm gettin shocks too, and they hadn't come in yet. Might have to have them shipped up to me ifin they don't show up in time.
Guess I should try and find a pressure hose that's not frozen so I can get all the extraneous organics off the undercarrage. Might get a better job that way. Nothing like a face full of old Baja mud and cactus spines to make a guy forget where the torque wrench is.

Re: New Deaver Springs
Well, talked to Jeff and the Bilsteins are in and the springs ready to go. Send money....
I'm meeting him at 0730 Monday and he'll give me a ride back to Dizzyland so I won't get killed by the little urchins chomping at the bit.
My first drive will be up I-5, so not much of a test. But, April will bring a run thru parts of Arizona and then back into Baja. That'll be the real test.
