Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
I just got off the phone with Steve at Rock Slide Engineering and he feels he will be able to adapt to my rig. I had sent him pics of my equipment in question that Lance didn't have on his van. Once he gets Tom's van down there he will be able to look at the situation we are in. Because each van is slightly different, hopefully they will be able to come up with a design that covers all builds. Problems I need to check are:
>>Location of the propane door. (SMB has used several different models)
>>Power plugs. (I have 110vAC in, 110vAC out, and 2 12vAC)
>>Water inlet and drain valves.
>>Starcool 110AC compressor.
>>Espar muffler and air inlet.
I don't think the flat plate will be a problem but Steve thinks they will be able to overcome any issue. I just hope I don't end up staying in Utah for a week to get these things on.
I would suggest that everybody crawl under your rig and take pictures of anything that might be an issue. Even the drain valves end up at different locations from van to van coming off the line at SMB. The more pictures they can look at, the more they will be able to make one product that fits all applications.
