Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps
I just finished my road trip from SoCal to Logan, Utah to Redding and back to SoCal. Did it with my 9 y.o. son and had a blast. Minimal snow around but managed to get days of skiing/boarding in Logan and Tahoe.
Main reason for the trip was for the RSE slider/step install and to pick up a rear aluminess bumper. Steve and Kevin at RSE were great. The sliders turned out perfect and after the steps being deployed a multitude of times during our trip home, they continue to function perfectly. They are my son's favorite part of the van and they look great! One aspect of the sliders that I don't think has been mentioned yet, is that there is a built in safety mechanism where if something gets caught between the step and slider while they are closing(like fingers, arms, or a kid's head), they shut off automatically sort of like a garage door does. Something that I hadn't thought of but demonstrates the amount of thought and engineering that goes into RSE's products.
BTW, my van was the first to have a complete set of the sliders installed after the prototype set on the Wave, so all of the kinks have been worked out with the install and any future installs should be a breeze, probably just one day to install a set.
If anyone has any questions about these, I would be glad to answer them.
