Was the install easy? Where do you get the cross bars from, and how much? I'm very interested

Garage
The towers and gutters are still available. I have an add in classified. First PM wanting them gets them. $300 for towers, bar and mounting hardware. You can get the bars and locks most Yakima retailers or online.

Not yet. But after much thought I have decided to go with the track models with the installation on top of the Ph, as opposed to the side of the penthouse. Now just narrowing it down to Thule or Yakima. Anxious to get this done though.

Surfmobile, which track did you end up with? How long did you go?

Hey JFlo. Still haven't installed, but decided to go with track setup (seems more versatile and stronger), and will get at least 60" (maybe longer) bars that can accommodate two items side by side. Still apprehensive re: getting the installation perfect - although previously posted instructions look really helpful. Have you installed yet? Any words of wisdom.

I just installed some track mounted roof racks on my Traverse. I went with Rhino Rack track mounted system as opposed to Thule or Yakima. I liked their set up better with channel bolts that slide in a channel under the tracks as opposed to going through from the top. Also like the fact that they are a bit beefier and and come with gaskets on the bottom of both sides of the tracks, as well as butyl sealant pads that fit around the holes. Also like the price as opposed to Thule. I installed on the outside of the canvas like others have. The only modification I had to make was to switch out the thumbscrew nuts provided with some stainless steel lock nuts and cut down the shaft of the bolt to + / - 1/2" as thats about all the clearance I have with the top down. Good luck whichever way you go with it.
