In the picture below you can see that I mounted my HighLift jack on the top bar of my bumper. I kept it there for about two years. But I eventually got tired of the horrible rattling from the jack whenever I went on a dirt road. I tried many ways to quite the rattle but in never worked. Now that I have taken it off my van is so much quieter.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Thanks Mike. I knew I had a better picture but I was too lazy to look for it.

I've got that same mount on my van.
I keep it quiet with a couple of bungee cords spiral wrapped around the handle and base plate.

I did the same thing but mine still rattled. I finally got tired of listening to it. Plus now that I am living in snowy Wyoming I was concerned about he jack rusting.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

The above method will not work if one has a winch mounted inside the bumper.

Really?

I'm not "one" then since my 12k Warn sleeps in there along with tow straps and spare hoses/belts

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Perhaps a faulty assumption on my part. Does it come out under your jack? I think I can now see the hook to the winch in your picture.
