Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
In lieu of a complete window change you can purchase just the awning glass on this style window , I had to change one of mine after an errant Golf Ball struck it while parked in our driveway . I had Peter
At SportsMobile Fresno send me a replacement for about $200.00 . It was a little less time about one half hour and relatively easy , toughest part is cleaning up the fractured safety plate glass .

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Good to know, but I also salvaged the crank out operator from this one and if I ever get motivated I will swap it into the front window which seems to stripped. You do have to remove the window to get to the fasteners so not sure if I'll ever do it. Is the glass held by epoxy in the track? I probably had not cranked it out for over a year and it just dropped right out when I opened it.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
It is the standard Black Butyl material that is used for many automotive glass sealing chores . Good that you saved the Crank/Screw mechanism they can be problematic and I believe that you are correct in that the entire window must be removed to change out . You would think that for the kind of money charged for the Lawrence windows that they might upgrade this 40 plus year old design . All and all having owned and used the many styles of windows available for RV applications I still feel the Awning style is the most utilitarian in camping situations .

What is the silver where your factory 3rd brake light should be?
|
Jage, itīs a metal plate that covers where the back light used to be originally. I dont know if it was SMB installed or by the previous owner.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
I added a 1/2" farm style hitch pin to secure the swingarms on the Aluminess rear bumper. It's a nice snug fit and helps keep the doors from rattling. The rattling doesn't bother me as much as the posibility of the constant small movement of the swingarms wearing out the bushings. I cut the hitch pin down to 2" in length and beveled the end with a bench grinder.

Fixed (I hope) the non-working piezo igniter on the SMEV stove. Details here: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...p=79706#p79706.

I added bungee storage pouches to the ceiling in the upper bunk and under the PH bed. We're always looking for places to tuck little items.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
First, gotta say I like Tomesd's bungy pouches on the penthouse roof ceiling.
Performed routine clean-up, silicone spray wipedown, and plastic rivet replacement (2 pulled out) on the penthouse roof gasket. Looks like I'll need to restock on rivets since this may be a two-fer each year kinda thing. Gasket looking good and fits well - two years old now.

What did you do to your SMB today?
Actually Friday. Called Sportsmobile to talk with them about replacing the penthouse roof bolts. Peter asked if they were leaking and I said no. He recommended that it was better to leave them alone since they were not leaking and replace them only if they start leaking. In other words "if it ain't broke don't fix it.
