Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Rhino lined front bumper and aluminess standard box. I hate chrome and the standard box was getting all scratched up by the gas cans.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I found a subwoofer that fits perfectly behind the drivers seat. The paired amplifier fits underneath the seat. This configuration does not interfere with the seat in any way and provides excellent bass for the cab area, not boomy at all.

p.s. I don't play loud music while I'm camping so don't hate me for liking a nice sound system.

I added a new symbol to the TomTom. Yes, it is a Sprinter!

Now I can follow myself around!

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

After twice having the front driveshaft hit the oil filter and housing and cause an oil leak, I installed a SMB/AMSOil dual remote filter setup.

I used different fittings than the ones that AMSOil supplies at the engine end. I noticed the oil lines go down, then curve up. So, I used a 90 degrees fitting so the hoses are aimed in the right direction.

You can see the 90 degree fittings. $50 for both.

And I mounted the filters up above the transfercase skidplate.

You can only see the edge of the crossmember the skidplate is mounted on. The skidplate goes from the crossmember past the back of the transfercase. It is a little tight getting to the filters, but they are well protected.

The hardest part of the modification was making a spacer to mount the filter block away from the frame and body bolt. A piece of 2x3 steel tube did the job after I cut a 3" hole offcenter in it to clear the body mount.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Today I drove it our local mountain; it ran great. Then I tried to get the nuts up to install the bigger tranny cooler.
Any tips?

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

This was done several weeks ago and it's not my SMB, so lets just call it, What did you do to someone elses SMB a while ago?
So a few weeks back my SMB had to share the driveway with a visitor. A friend of mine ask if I could do some of the mods to his van that I did to my van. He dropped off his van for a few days and this is what I did to it.
First I installed a few hooks, 2 on the PH ceiling (these are very nice stainless steel hooks) this take the place of hanging something from the roof latch. 2 similar hooks in the very back of the van and a clip type right behind the drivers seat.

Then I installed a 3 gal drinking water tank with a custom breather valve.

And finally I cut two holes in his fenders and installed these vents.

I learned a lot when I did mine and I must say, I think I did a better job on his.
