The bar is wedged in, or is it attached to the dash in some way?

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

- finished up my winch install (see M12000 thread)
- working on new head unit install
- discovered my fuel rails are a tad rusty. Not sure how much work to replace. I am guessing they have 2-5 years of service life left, the rust is pretty bad at some of the bends/joints
- need to vacuum out a bunch of crap from prior rodent residents on back of engine block

the flat bar travels past the side of the dash and bolts into the body in two places. It's strong. Not going anywhere. The vibration is lateral. I suppose I could redesign and eliminate, but it's not a problem.

I do use a rubber band to secure the phone if the window down.

Fuel rails are the rigid fuel tubing connecting the injectors together, and connect to the high pressure fuel line, and return line. They are bent and welded to shape and boot to the inlet manifold. Not something you would easily make or repair. My van came from Michigan, hence the rust.

I scraped off the grateful dead stickers, tore out the shag carpeting and bed platform on my 77 chev SWB window van.
I keep finding leafy substances in the corners so it's a good thing i'm not driving it yet. "officer,I have no idea what that green stuff is,it must be the previous owner's."

Did you clear this project with your local historic preservation commission?

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

^ LOL!
I replaced the fresh water pump with the quiet model ShurFlo since the original pump died in Saline Valley.
I also decided enough of frozen water lines and re-routed them to all be interior. From my measurements I more than halved the distance the hot water has to travel to get to the sink. The factory routing is beyond stupid with lines traveling a great distance in the exterior walls. Why SMB does this I'll never know.

So, we shall see in a few days when we head to the high country and single digits.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Today I replaced the Atwood exterior shower with a Phoenix model. Also replaced the ivory colored 110 outlets with black ones. Even replaced the ivory Suburban switch with a black one as well. Not a fan of the yellowed ivory look.

Bought a Shady Boy awning. Buying from the Canadian manufacturer saved about $150 over getting it from an American distributer. Look forward to installing it next week.
