Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Debadged the beast, pretty simple, used my wifes hairdryer, goo-off and quite a bit of good ol fashioned elbow grease. And finally got that pesky reverse wire hooked up to the backup cam. Couldn't track it down inside the cab, had to go to the trailer reverse lights fuse under the hood. Working like a champ now.

Looks like you installed the same or similar head unit I did...and unfortunately this message is too late to help you.
I found the left side reverse wire (black with pink stripe) inside the driver's door step, under the black plastic liner. Had to peel some of the factory black tape off of the bundle, but once that was done, a fairly easy place to make the connection.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Added a 40" light bar from outlaw LED
http://www.outlawled.com/index.php?i...roller=product
with a linear actuator from progressive automations
http://progressiveautomations.com/mi...8sec-p-15.html
to adjust the angle and also allow it to point directly down/back when not in use. Added a momentary DPDT switch to raise/lower the light. Works great. Had to do a bit of fabrication to make the normal mounting points into bearings using brass bushings and also make the aluminum bracket to hook onto the light and attach to the actuator. Also had to cut a hole in the front trojan bumper for actuator to run through. Also made a small L bracket to attach to the bumper for the other end of the actuator.
Nice to be able to adjust the angle of the light when approaching a hill, either up or down.
The actuator has a 4" stroke.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Good idea. I keep a plate over mine to keep from being pulled over and it's a PITA to take on and off.

Oddly enough I did dig out the blk/pnk wire, but on my van (2000) it wasnt a reverse wire. I didn't find that out of course until after I had spliced into it. Learn as you go is my motto I guess.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
That actuator is SO trick.
Since you've got the light bar, what IS the legality of that? One light?

When I'm off roading and driving on the public roads like around Death Valley I leave mine uncovered but I know it's not legal. They are blindingly bright.

I have it only enabled with the high beams so I think it would be legal even if pointed forward. With it down I can't see that there would be any legal issues since it isn't pointed forward and is "mood" lighting

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
I don't know Utah law but I thought California law says you can have no more that 2 and doesn't the Fog lights count?
