Window Curtains

I can't be the only person breaking off the little plastic knobs that hold the window curtain at the bottom. I'm tired of replacing them......Has Sportsmobile upgraded them since mine was built? What have you done to upgrade or keep this from happening?
Thanks Woot.......

Re: Window Curtains

Hey Paul,
Thanks so much for the offer. I have some extras but I'm just tired of replacing the little guys. I was hoping that someone had came up with a better replacement. I guess I could hit the fab shop & put together a group order....Ha Ha!! I'm going to do something as I was fit to be tied when my wife said "I broke one of the window knobs"! I knew what she was talking about & needless to say it is still out there waiting to be fixed. At least until I get a better part.
Thanks Again Woot........

Re: Window Curtains

Wow, I have like one extra from when replacing string that had worn out from so much use. SWC is pretty good about customer service, but I think you can probably fab something out of metal, or just use a stack of washers.

Or, you could just be more careful.

I like Jage's idea of being careful....

Re: Window Curtains

Thanks Greg but not really.....it is the plastic knobs on the outter edge at the bottom of the shades that holds the string assembly into the widow opening. They are round & have holes so the string will pass thru them. Now I'm not sure what is comming out in the new Sportsmobiles but the way mine is built sucks. The plastic knobs are brittle & break pretty easily. I know this seems like a small issue but after the 3rd, you"ll be looking for an alternative. Thats where I am now.
Thanks For Your Help.

Re: Window Curtains

That is the reason I'm going with the cloth curtains on our next expo vehicle.

Re: Window Curtains

I have replaced tons of those little things for customers. I have the perfect replacement part. Go to the nearest sewing shop and buy metal bobbins. Thay have the holes needed as well as the large center hole for the screw. I know thay are a little more expensive then the plastic ones but you"ll never replace them again. hope this helps
