The wire goes right up into the OH console, down inside the A pillar, and right into the OBD2 connector under the steering column.

If I can remember, I'll take a picture when I get home.
Could it be mounted upside down (bottom of the mirror)? I like that mount.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge

I used to have an MSD Dashawk when I had a Trailblazer SS. That unit was nice as you could set warning parameters, so when if your coolant temp reached a certain temp, it would flash and I think make a beeping sound. I think the ultragauge might do that, but it is a feature I wish the scangauge had.

That'd be great, I was thinking about this setup.. but wasn't sure how it's work on the van.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge

I had the BlendMount in my SMB. I liked it except I found that the Scan Gauge display was difficult to read in sunlight. Its not the brightest display in the first place, and its even harder to see with daylight behind it.

Well I got AutoMeter gauges for all the good stuff like you've seen Herb but just added AutoMeter gauges that look at the water and oil temps to monitor delta's. The Scan Gauge will look at lesser priority stuff now.

Here ya' go:

I've never had trouble reading the screen. Mounted there, it's always in the shade. You can change the color of the backlight.

Here's the mount and cable going up into the headliner.

Here's where the cable plugs into the OBD2 port.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge

This has worked for me, the negative is you have to drill hole in the dash.
