Re: Help: Connecting portable solar panel to house batteries

Yes, it car audio mostly. I like the marine fuse that you show, My only concern would access, for my house battery getting to that would be a challenge, so if you are OK with access then it should work fine, and even then for this application probably not a issue. The only other drawback is that you can't find them just anywhere, but I don't see that as a huge issue. I think the 30 amp would be fine. Bluesea has a good circuit wizard http://circuitwizard.bluesea.com/# You can even get it for your smart phone.
I see that we are relatively close, I usually use the West Marine in Tigard. Feel free to reach out if you run into issues, it does not sound like you will.

Hey Greg,

Great info. I had not thought about the house battery wrt to fuse accessibility. Thankfully, I can partially lower my batteries without too much trouble. If it becomes an issue, I will investigate other options. Currently, I am pretty sold on the battery terminal fuse block due to it's serious marine grade qualities. I will simply pick up a few extra 'block' fuses.

Thanks for offer on help -- i've done a lot of research, I think this should go fairly smooth. Will certainly reach out if I run into trouble.

Cheers,
Dominic
