BillPa1 & Friends, G'day,
My SMB is finished, so from now on it's a long, exciting WAIT.
I live in Perth, Western Australia. I've wanted an SMB for over two years. There is not one
Anywhere in Australia. I had to get a special permit from the federal government, then it will have to be converted to Right Hand Drive, which shall be very complicated, but E350 cab chassis Motorhomes
have previously been brought in here and converted to Right Hand Drive.
A neighbor of my fathers has a Combi(VW Van) with a Popup roof, owned now for over 45 years, he is in his 90's now.
This SMB project, I have bought, sight unseen. Van, ex US Government Fleet, came from Missouri, went to Advanced 4WD in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 4WD system, then to SMB West for Popup roof & interior conversion. Bought van in Feb this year. Had vehicle painted yellow in Salt Lake City and newer
Headlights installed.
Will be travelling California, Arizona & Utah, April/May next year and going to Overland Expo, Flagstaff, AZ, 15-17 May 2015.

Sherriffdoug, here is a crummy cell phone pic I took of your finished van on the 12th. If I knew earlier I could have snapped some detailed pics. Time was tight so all I did was snap a few quick pics of finished vans waiting to get picked up. Not sure if this link takes you to the picture or just my gallery. Yours is the last picture in the gallery in any case.

Yes, I picked up my new rig yesterday. See my gallery for pics that I will post later today. Also, I took about a dozen photos of your rig, but not sure how to post them. Maybe I will just put the photos on my photo gallery.

Many thanks. I am back in San Diego and already

have the SMB at JBA's Speed shop to get headers installed and the oil changed in the Atlas Trasfer case, which I was told to do at 500 miles. Next is out to Alumaness factory to get a star bed frame to extend the bed out the back of the van.

I'll be up at SMB West February the 12th. If anyone has a build in process let me know & I'll try & get some pictures. Taking mine back to get the radio redone as I am unable to see anything on the flat screen, so exchanging it for a Motorola DPX500BT, and few miner adjustments.
