Advise needed: where to buy a DSLR camera

Thinking of buying a camera (Canon) in the States, where should I look to compare?
Internet? Shops?

Will be based in Oregon.

Thanks

Advise needed: where to buy a DSLR camera

I have gotten most of my gear from B & H Pototo via the web. Great customer service. Had to return a 2x extender because it did not fit my lens. They refunded the money no questions asked. They also have a good selection of used gear. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

Costco has a combo deal on the Canon 60D with 18-200IS Canon IS Lens for $1299. Heard from that the lense itself fetches ~600 by itself.
I'm trying to pick one up but they've been selling out.

Costco online
$1249.99 incl shipping
Canon EOS 60D DSLR
Camera with 18-200mm Lens,
Gadget Bag, Mini-HDMI Cable,
& 4GB SD Card

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.as ... lang=en-US
You have to add the camera to your cart to see the price for some reason.

I picked up this camera a few months ago (except mine has the 18-135mm lens) and love it. I am getting even more use out of the articulating LCD screen than I thought I would.

I would recommend a larger memory card though, and factor that into any cost decisions.

Ditto Costco, as long as they have what you're looking for. Good pricing and good service if needed.

FWIW, if you're budget is lower and you're looking at the Rebel series we've been totally impressed with the the T1i and I understand the new T2i is even better.

You could put the savings between the two kits towards some nice glass too, which I would guess make a bigger difference than the camera body at that level.

I also recommend B&H Photo, especially if you're looking for a 5D Mark II. Great customer service and good prices. Adorama is also a good choice.

Re: Advise needed: where to buy a DSLR camera

You can't go wrong with the 5D Mark II. Mine has been used 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week for the last three years. It has not been in the shop once.

Canon is having rebates right now available on their website you may want to check out.

Let me know if you have any questions on it or any of their lens, flashes etc. 95% of my website & FaceBook has been shot with the Mark II.

Brent, your site and images are fabulous!

Andrew, you can't go wrong with any of the suggestions made here. I, too, use a 5DII, but my main axe is the 1DsIII.
