Congratulations JWA you've provided great information to others, glad you won them.

I ordered 2 and shared this with 2 overlanding groups I am most active with.
After having survived several car fires and one house fire I cannot tell you the value of a grab and go don't worry if its charged fire extinguisher...and how nasty it is to have a normal extinguisher punctured inside a moving vehicle...
I priced these last year and only could find them in Europe..at more than twice the cost.
Thank you for extending the discounts and all the in depth answers for folks!!

Just curious about which MOUNTS people here are selecting for their Elements?

They come with one clip that works pretty good (if you need additional you will have to request with your order).
REDOVAL was kind enough to share the identity of the nice clips he used (on this thread, post 71 & 73). I also ordered them & just received - they will work great since they actually secure the Element better
I'm mounting these clips to two small (but strong) magnets, and will be positioned under the vehicle with easy access. The second will be similar to REDOVAL, but just behind the front seat.
Because of the compact size of the element, it can be mounted virtually anywhere and not be obtrusive.

That's a super idea---hadn't thought of it but I'll be cruising K&J Magnetics for something usable. I'd thought to drill holes for bolts/nuts to mount some sort of clip to the seat base---magnets make that so much easier and a far, far more flexible mounting solution.

Under the vehicle, or under the seat?

One under the vehicle, magnets stick to the frame just behind the passenger side rear wheel - that way if i have to address a snafu outside the van (BBQ, Fire ring, etc) I have easy access.
Second will stick to the drivers seat frame
These are the magnets I used (they do offer different sizes), the nice part is the already have a threaded hole in the top, so I just used some stainless hardware to attach the mounts REDOVAL identified to the magnets - Works great!

Great idea, makes sense to have one outside the van in case interior access isn't possible.
I like the magnets linked as well----a bit less expensive than my K&J Magnetic's offerings and a bit stronger too but intended for exposure to weather. I place a spare key holder between the body and frame rail top just aft of the left rear tire. It's relatively dry there and road bumps etc don't seem to dislodge the holder. Most likely a similar storage spot for an Element would be a good location too.
Of course if I had one stowed there I'd check for it from time-to-time---never know when some miscreant might run off with it.
