EZ-Exit Electric Push-Button rear door release

Designed for Sprinters that have high rear beds and the manual, mechanical door latch release cannot be reached and/or operated from the bed.
This easy to install DIY release allows you to open the rear door by simply pushing a button that is located anywhere that is convenient for you.

Great device if its needed----convenient for a DIY installation too it seems!

Interestingly enough it builds on ideas I've seen custom car builders use for vehicles they'll remove exterior door handles for a more sleek look---those use magnets to trigger the switches placed inside the door shells.

This sort of idea along with a touch of ingenuity could be adapted to almost any manufacture vehicle with off-the-shelf products.

EZ-Exit

The virtue of this system is that it is already off the shelf and does not need relays or magnets. The kit includes all parts and diagrams for an installation.
The premium model includes two 3-way switches and LED lights so that you can illuminate the rear garage area of the van as well as the sliding door area so that you have light when you open either of the doors while you decide what you want to do.

The virtue of this system is that it is already a complete package including parts, connectors, fuses and wiring instructions and does not need relays or magnets.

The other thing to consider is that this is a safety feature as well as a luxury feature. With the majority of high platform beds mounted in Sprinter vans it is almost impossible to reach and operate the default mechanical latch.
This is a problem in emergencies and it is a problem in the middle of the night when you want to exit the van because nature calls and you have to wake up and crawl over your bed-mate.
Can you do without it? Sure. Do you want to? I know we love ours and put it in all our vans!

Understood and I agree its a great idea, is probably a problem solver for the instances you describe. If they offer similar devices or assemblies for the E-Series or other brands that too would be great.

My points were just saying such devices/assemblies could be DIY constructed if they were needed or wanted.

Thanks for the post though---very interesting!
