It's more important for me to be able to haul a load of lumber to the cabin and keep it dry. Secure a Motorcycle and gear while I'm away from the vehicle. You know "truck" kinda stuff without towing an over grown trailer.
I'm sorry if I offended you. grow some skin

Very nice, it's a slightly different body style than mine.

Cargo/bike carrying capacity or interior comfort, choose one.
Since I like both, I tow a small utility trailer with bikes/gear or use a hitch carrier.

Re: Motorcycle Hauler (was: Looking for my first Sportsmobile!)
maxacceleration, is that a RB or EB van? i want to build almost exactly the same thing but want a RB ford van and wondering how much room i will have in front of the bike between the front seats, you know--for the dogs comfort when driving. my bike is 400cc class dirt bike, wifes bike is much smaller (ie, mine could actually go on back, hers inside)

Re: Motorcycle Hauler (was: Looking for my first Sportsmobile!)
Might I suggest a field trip to your local Ford dealer to look at new and used vans. Take along a tape measure and you should be able to identify the exact measurements of an EB and RB so you can make a choice of which best meets your needs. It sounds like what you really want is a cargo van that you customize yourself exactly how you want it. I would start with looking at base vans first and then draw up your plan from there.
Good luck!

It is the EB van. I feel with the RB your dogs would have room. Maybe 3-4 feet?
Good luck!

Re: Motorcycle Hauler (was: Looking for my first Sportsmobile!)
thanks max, i figured a seat would fit in there still with some bikes on a RB, without going to actually measure and dealing with the sales guy.

I can have cargo and comfort.. When I'm done you'll see. You must have vision.
You are limited not only by skill but imagination. I fortunately have a great imagination and pretty decent skills. I have spent my life learning.. now I will apply the practical knowledge I've earned.
