I spent Thursday evening cutting out templates from cardboard for my windows.
I made the template 1/2" larger than the window and used it to cut out plywood to use as a frame around the window. This will give me a square area to cut out for my insulation and plywood walls. I won’t have to match the curve of the windows. Also the windows shipped with dense core foam that I will glue to back of frame to compress and match the walls of the van.
It was very stressful to cut the first window. The second was easy.
Now I should get good cross ventilation.
Windows installed.
Last night we had a bad thunder storm come thru. I sat in the van looking for leaks. I have on small drip on the smaller window. If you look at the larger window, the rubber for the top glass had gaps that I filled with caulk. I did not do this on the smaller window. That might be where the water is coming in.
