Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
Looks great. I think the Cruiser / Super Camper is my favorite top.
Does anyone sell the big tops that were used on all the camper conversion vans, like the Dorados and Gulfstreams? They were even bigger than this top i think.

Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
I like that top, it seems to have a little more headroom over the cab for sleeping. I thought I saw someone on here or expo that just purchased an early 90's van with this top and already converted to 4X4.
No idea who made those tops, but you would think with the cash for clunkers a while back people may have turned them in for cash. Who knows maybe with a search of some yards one might turn up.

Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
Yeah, that's the one.
Is that out of the same mold as this one? (SpencyG's van "Boomer" from ExPo)
***Edit: No, i can see right away that it isn't. Similar, but not the same.***

Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
And that's a little different than either of the first 2. I guess there are a lot of these tops around.

Super Camper Van Top, Here's an update
OK, it's been a while. A few medical related issues put off work for a while, but now I'm back at it.
Pics of polyiso insulation on ceiling
A couple pic of the insulation in the walls

Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
Oops couldn't post more than three, here are a couple more. Filling in between the plywood reinforcement with the half inch insulation and then one more full layer on top of that. So an inch of insulation in some spots.

Re: Super Camper Van Top, Another White Van Build
Smugdoug: thanks for sharing your project and all the pics! I'm starting a very similar project with a custom topper that I just had fiberine build and install for me. I'm currently working on building a custom sunroof above the sleeping area so things don't feel so claustrophobic up there. Keep the pics coming!
