Really. Would be fun;-) the van is now in California. I need to run a car fax to get the details of the number of owner.

I was going to suggest a carfax. It looks like the van lived at least part of its life somewhere other than CA.
Does the canvas/fabric on the roof need replacement? You made a comment. You might check to see about replacing it if so before making an offer. I don't know if the current GTRV company will replace existing canvas.

Seems like a lot. Down here a similar van sold for $17k with absolutely no rust. They are tough to find, but not so tough that you should buy a rusty one. I would offer $13-14k and stick to it. For the few thousand difference you could pay to have the rust taken care of.

Thanks, guys.
I have ordered a pre-inspection for next Tuesday and looking for carfax now. Not place before.
The fabric on the canvas is ok but looks like there is so black spot (humidity?) it did not smell that much but the guy said that he will get it to replace if I am taking it at 15k. So, I am sure there is room for negotiation.
I am not a big fan of rust, to be honest, but I am fine to get it cleaned if the maths work. The tires look good but the ball joints need to be replaced. Let me had more pictures here.
The good one is that it "technically" fit into the garage:-)

I think those are the information you mentioned correct?

There is something to be said for a vehicle that is close by and will fit in the garage. If he will negotiate, I say go for it!

Yes, that is the Ford weight decal. There should be a GTRV decal as well with possibly the CCC, cargo carrying capacity.
The GVWR is 7000 pounds. I'd want to know what the weight is now with the conversion. The GVWR minus the weight is what you have left for people, fuel, water, supplies, etc. 7000 isn't too bad, but weight adds up quickly.
The van needs some work, so I'm with Grampswrx on offers and negotiation. Finding one that will fit in the garage at 6'9" will be a challenge. Factor in what it will take to fix. You might want to get a quote to take care of the under carriage.

Based on the H9 axle code, it's a 3.55 with limited slip. Might be ok with the small motor and interior build out, but my guess it is will be right lane only when going up grades.
Like others have said, negotiate hard and use the rust as leverage.

Hi All,
I am drafting a quick note for a mechanic guy that will do the pre-inspection for me. I cannot be there when he is doing it, so I need to list all of the attention points. I have drafted below my first thoughts. Can you please let me know if I have missed something important?
- The general state of the engine
- Head gasket (no Leaking)
- Serpentine
- Water pump
- Transmission (no noise, no clunk)
- Rust on the body? Surface, need change?
- Computer check (reading code)
- Test drive
- Oil Leaking
- Check Ignition Coil
- Test AC
- Brake pads and rotor
