I think you should try the Koonie before returning it. The low setting is very quiet and moves a pleasant amount of air.

Just ordered a Koonie to replace a small noisy clip fan I’ve been using….thanks for the review Ray!

The drawback is that it is not cheap.
I'll second this nomination...Caframo has a great product (used widely in the boating world), and a 3yr Warranty from manufacturer!

I got the little 5.5" fan with the octopus legs yesterday. I'm returning it. It doesn't put out half the air as the Koonie/Opolar/etc. 8" one. I actually went for yet another knock off of the Koonie/Opolar which is an 8" and has a slightly bigger battery and timer like the other one, even a remote control that I don't need. Hopefully this is the answer I'm looking for. The original Opolar was the answer too.

The Coolice fan is on sale today. Hard to beat this little guy for 23.99.

I've always heard the Caframo was good but these are battery powered and so portable and useable anywhere in your van, or out of it.

My Coolice one got here yesterday but I paid $30. Improved from the original Opolar are:
- Hook as well as clip for hanging in a tent or similar
- hi/low LED light ring which is gimmicky, yes, but works awesome
- remote control, also gimmicky but thought I'd mention it
- 12,000ma battery can also be used as a device charger (standard USB out)
- 1/3/5 hour timer

OK, I'm done advertising these things. Just thought I would share my experience after some trial and error. This is THE ONE in my opinion.

The Sirocco II is a great fan. I removed the reading light from behind the drivers seat and installed it there(used existing wiring). It cooks me off while driving and REALLY helps blow cold air from the rear starcool. The gimbal mount offers a lot of versatility.
