Congratulations on retirement! I did 5 years ago and never looked back. Did my 2nd Alaska Hwy tour exactly 30 years after the first in 1992 ( but that was in a class C rental back then ). I’m OG owner of a 23- year old rig BTW and he’s a keeper!

Railvan,
Another congratulations on your Retirment:
I will assume that you bought your VAN for a reason.
Well, it's time you fulfilled your reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought my van as a retirement present to ME 20 years ago. So we with both are 20 years into retirement. My 03 Sportsmobile and I both have 320,000 miles under our belt. I'm not a fan of snow or mud but don't let that stop you. Go Baby Go.
Hope to see you on the road.........

I retired 7 years ago. At first it was wonderful. I still love being able to take off whenever the weather is good...but I get bored to death during the long winter months when I'm stuck inside and wish I had a job to keep me busy. But then I'm that type of guy who has to stay busy all the time...absolutely cannot sit down just to watch a movie or otherwise be idle. I blame that on my parents who instilled in us kids a tremendous work ethic and a feeling of guilt if being idle.....

So I'm putting a lot of miles on the Quigley, trying to act like I'm busy.....

Winter is my favorite time to travel, no crowds, amazing scenery, and lots of activity’s to keep me entertained. As long as I have a good heater and plenty of food and fuel, I’m in my element and It’s the best time to explore the desert if you don’t like snow.
