Hey boywonder -- its just a stainless steel clamp - 4 inch I think - various widths - Amazon.com. My plan was to try to eliminate as many "open" spaces on exhaust piping to make sawzall more difficult to get to metal. No rattling so far of cables, etc. I tried to "dead end" the st/steel cables under stainless sleeves or up into holes in framing.

Might not look the neatest - but only the ants and worms can see it ! lol

Thieves already have a damn good job stealing our cats. There's some risk but it would seem to be minimal as its fairly common still.

And there seems to be almost no real prosecution when they are caught.

Great. Yet another thing to be paranoid about! I just bought a Revelco, too.

I just got back from visiting my motorhome at the RV storage yard and my passenger side converter is gone (they did a nice neat job, square cuts, etc.) I don't know when they did it since I haven't been to the motorhome that much and wouldn't have noticed it today had I not started the engine.

Thieves hit the yard in April but they didn't take mine then. The RV stored on my driver's side is gone for a while so I'm wondering if that side was too exposed for them but both converters are pretty accessible. Maybe they just got scared off. I kind of wish they'd taken both so I'd have two new ones. With my luck, I'll fail my next smog test and have to replace the driver's side converter.

I've called Progressive and the Police but haven't yet talked to a police officer.

My converters are so exposed with plenty of crawl space, I doubt that any preventive measure would work. Each has four or five feet of fully accessible exhaust pipe in the front and back of them. I'll paint and engrave them for the future but I don't think it will be much of a deterrent.

I did run across this, which is encouraging, especially in a situation like mine where there are 50 or more other vehicles to attack:

It is illegal to put a used cat on a vehicle(at least here in Ca), so be sure you have insurance for theft and damage. Even $500 deductable will help a $1300 bill.
