Alarm Systems - SMB Installed - "Viper" Systems

Greetings -

To any early 2000 - 2005 (?) SMB builds owners -- Looking for info on "Viper" alarm systems installed in early SMB's - that have the "Viper" system installed.
Do you have any manual /info on how to program or reprogram the key FOB to "link" the matching key FOB should the battery fail - or if your alarm goes "haywire" and takes on a life of its own !

Not sure if two FOBS will "auto-link" up again when changing batteries - I'm sure my batts are at least 2-3 years old - and I'm "scared" to pull them out and put new ones in !? Am I missing any questions that should be asked on this topic ?

Appreciate any directions - copy of manual(s) - archived web sites, etc. Stay safe out there !

Have you tried a Google search for the manuals? I just tried and quite a few posted…probably need the model number.
U-tube also has a number of videos available, as does the Viper site:

There is a fuse going to the alarm unit somewhere that can be pulled if the alarm does its own thing.

I had one quit responding and wouldn’t let the rig start and was instructed to pull that in order to gain control again.

The alarm shop replaced the unit (bout a year old, too) and said they rarely go out and asked if I recently jump started. Since I hadn’t, I’m thinking if that is ever needed, that fuse should be yanked for the operation.

Viper is a brand of a company called Directed. They only only publish the owner manuals openly, which don't provide much technical detail.

The installer manuals look like they are behind a password site. However, using the following google search term, you may be able to find additional resources such as installation manuals:

"filetypedf site:https://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/viper"

Edit: filetype colon pdf - the forum is helpfully translating colonp into a smiley
