Any Oztent owners?

I was wondering if anyone has an Oztent as an adjoining tent and canopy for their rig? They look like a great idea, as we would often have guest spillover, but also look very bulky when stored. Thanks for any input, pros and cons! (I apologize in advance if this should have been posted under "gadgets and accessories").

Garage
May reach out for member Lehman...he had posted a very nice Fiamma privacy room (never used) for an extremely affordable price. Haven't seen an update stating it sold, so he may still have it.

Thank you, but not quite what I had in mind. I like the pass through idea and the separate tent area. Plus I get a prodeal on the Oztents so they'd be a lot cheaper than $800.

I own a RV-5 Oztent, great tent but as you said bulky.
Folded up its in to a bag about 7ft long x 15" wide by 15" high and ridged because of its design. No squeezing it anywhere.

I have an RV5 Oz Tent. Absolutely wonderful tent, well made, and sets up very quickly.

One reason it sets up quickly is that it collapses more or less only in one direction, and therefore it remains very long in one direction when it's packed. Great tent.

Thanks, good to know! I guess it would be stored on the top rack. I just looked up the different dimensions on the website, and man they are long! You think they are worth it for the bulk and trouble?

Oz RV2

I’ve got one. Haul it strapped to an Adventure Trailer I occasionally bring on long trips. I like the tent and easy set-up. If I did it over again, I’d save my money. The tent is just too long folded. Hauling it up to a roof rack would be difficult under the best circumstances. My floor plan is an RB 50 and there isn’t a good way to carry it inside without compromising the Van’s usefulness while getting to your destination. If it was my primary sleeping/living area I could make it work, but I have found it cumbersome and more likely to be left at home.

This would be a cool use if you also had an OZ Tent Foxwing awning. They connect together.

For my money the cost of the tent is worth it. Set up or take down is under a minute, putting in its storage bag is another one or two minutes. Yes we had to make sure the roof rack basket was over 7ft. and yes is bulky to store in the garage, but worth it.
