Best High Voltage Alternator suggestions

What is the best high amp alternator replacement for my 2013 Ford e350 V8. The stock 130 amp alternator doesnt cut the power dram I have , with my new Renogy40 amp dc to dc charger, the stock alternator is clearly not sufficient enough.

Can someone post the best most reliable aftermarket high voltage alternator to install on this ford V8.

Not looking for some fly by night ebay brand, as we all know a bad alternator can leave you stranded. I am looking for a reputable brand and will spend the extra cash for something quality. I understand there are 280 and even 300 amp alternators.

thanks in advance.

Best and most reliable are not mutually exclusive but DCpower is one option. I've got a 250A XP on my rig. https://www.dcpowerinc.com/

Leece Neville get's high marks as well. https://www.ficmrepair.com/index.cfm...rod/prd339.htm

Just for my curiosity:
Can “just swap” the alternators or are there any risks for a regular battery setup?

I don’t have any house battery, solar or similar yet, so I’m thinking I could possibly hurt my regular battery with too much power?!?

I have a leece Neville that replaced a DC power that needed repairs. I keep the DC as a spare. The Leece is really big but works great so far. 2 years so far trouble free.

I'll second the Leece Neville. I put the 275 Amp version in my 7.3 van and it has been great so far.

Two points to note:

It won't work properly with a diode based isolator (switch to the Blue Sea Systems ML-ACR)

If you get it from Nations along with the cable kit, it might be a little too short. Mine needed an extra 18" to route the wiring properly.

While we're all here, what voltage is too low for healthy operation of an alternator? I installed a new dc-dc charger and am reading about 13.3-13.7 volts. Will this kill my alternator? Do I need to upgrade the alternator?

I'm on an '01 7.3 w/ 85,000

You need to monitor the alternator temp and stay below about. 225 deg F. The issue is alt getting too hot as nd that is s function of ability to dissipate heat which is rpm snd air flow related.
