Stolen van

Stolen Camper Van 2001 Ford Econoline E250, OR license HC71164, White pop top w/black bed liner trim on lower chassis!

My van was stolen some time last night. I woke up this morning to find my beloved 2001 Ford Econoline E250 GTRV missing from my driveway. The van is white with a pop-top with and black bed liner on the bottom and black fender flares. License HC71164. It has a roof rack and Yakima cargo box. At the time it went missing had a Yakima swing-away rear bike rack. It also has a front hitch receiver. There were many distinctive stickers on the rear door windows. Color: White, Make: Ford, Model: Econoline E250, Year: 2001, Type: Van, License plate: Oregon HC71164 Location SW Portland near Tigard Oregon.Click image for larger version

Man really sorry to hear that! It's a great rig. We'll keep our eyes peeled out here in the Gorge.

Hate to see these posts - Not much help on this side of the pond, other than hoping karma comes into play...for you both!

Update: van is found! I just heard from the Portland Police bureau that they located the van. I'll post more as I learn more but the good news is it's found and I'll be getting my van back!

That was pretty quick - hoping it ends out more of a joy-ride scenario rather than a “strip it for everything we want” result. Hoping for the best!

Fantastic news, I'm really happy for you. This whole van theft epidemic just sucks. Your experience prodded me to again remove the rear wheels on mine until I'm ready to depart for my next trip. I have a Revelco that give me a lot of piece of mind, but I'm still afraid of it getting towed away, so I back it in and set the parking brake to make it more difficult to tow since the back wheels wont roll, but removing the wheels pretty much insures it won't move, and it allows me to inspect the brake pads and the surrounding areas. You might consider installing a GPS tracker, a Revelco, a steering lock, an alarm with remote notification etc. There are lots of threads here on other theft proofing too. Congratulations on getting it back, lots of folks dont.

Great news! Yesterday after reading, you propelled me to call Revelco. Installed today. I hope your van is returned harm-free!
