Re: PH Bunk

I ended up building my own to suit my needs but it sounds like you are looking for the same solution. I bought 4x8 3/4inch playwood, and cut 3 pieces but use only 2 of them. I bought mounting hardware from Sportsmobiles (loops, cleats and etc). We took over 10 trips past 3 months and can tell you that we almost always end up putting the smaller piece on top of the bigger piece, and hang the end of the bigger piece from the ceiling while the other end rests on the rail. This creates pleny headspace in less than a min.

That's what I wanted to know.

Thanks

Re: PH Bunk

This is what my 1/3:2/3 two-piece bunk looks like in the up position (SMB West Ford 2010 install). Check my gallery for photos in the down position. There are two minor issues with it. First, the 2/3 piece sometimes gets hung up on one rail when the PH is pulled down - keeping the PH from fully closing. The solution for this is to leave the back end (or both ends) of the 2/3 piece down on the rails (rather than hanging from the roof) when pulling the PH down - especially when the van is not parked on level ground. Second, there is significant wear at the corners of the vinyl bumper ring (cushion protectors) around the bottom of each bed piece. The solution to this is to lift the bed pieces when moving them rather than sliding them into place.

Re: PH Bunk

My elec PH in an EB is more like 50/10/40, from memory (it has a small middle piece).
