Glad this worked out---I can completely understand the frustration and impatience. It probably seemed as though each passing day was just another attempt to delay and deny, a typical insurance claim pay out tactic.

I will say that I'm pleasantly surprised by how quickly this has been resolved by your insurance company. I hate to say it, but I was expecting more drama.

Great news that State Farm gave you a fair settlement. Now you get to decide what's next. Sadly, if you decide to rebuild, I suspect you will eventually have issue after issue from saltwater intrusion. The starter is just the beginning. Or you could part it out, buy another van, transfer all the undammaged goodies, and probably come out way ahead money wise, not to mention not having to deal with what may turn out to be non ending electrical issues. Anyway, congratulations on getting a rapid and fair settlement.

That turned out great & I'm glad for you. I've had Auto Owners forever & had a winter beater rusted out 4x4 2000 F150 a mouse peed on the wireing & computer. I had storage insurance for $50/year & they totalled it same way in less than a week for an amount I didn't expect either & even paid my mechanic. I think it pays to buy & keep insurance from a live agent you know.I check his price every 2 years & no on has beat him yet. Congrads!

Good to hear! Now you'll have to start a new thread, "Rebuilding an ocean-flooded SMB"

Saw your van on Craigslist at a price that is VERY tempting to me. But I don’t know that I dare....

I couldn't find it on Craigslist...

I don't know what the asking price is, but if it is for sale would a part-out be considered?
