Re: Who makes this bumper ?
That's Jeffrey's van. Believe it's a Road Armour bumper.

Re: Who makes this bumper ?
That is RoadArmor bumper, but the company that made that version / design is now solo. Road Rhino Bumpers is the company. There is a lot of internet bullshit about the whole situation and I have absolutely no idea the real story behind it all. What I said above could well be inaccurate. But the Road Rhino bumper that's identical to the above is a lot cheaper, and everything I have read it's a lot better quality.

Re: Who makes this bumper ?
Whoaaaa, this is very interesting. That is a way cool bumper, and some googling revealed WIY (weld it yourself) kits at quite low pricing. Front AND rear bumpers both, in a WIY kit are available for $750 + 180 shipping. That is a pretty affordable way to go compared to aluminess. Of course there are a couple of big differences (like 500 pounds and a lot of labor and then you have to paint them). Still, a very interesting option since aluminess is absolutely out of the question for my budget.
3/16 steel is awfully heavy... i wonder if they'd build a slightly lighter set. I think I'd rather have lighter sheet and throw in a handful of strategic reinforcements than have such a heavy bumper.

Buying through ebay and paypal definitely affords some level of protection. Not sure what exactly that's worth when the shit really hits the fan though.
Good ebay feedback for every bumper he's sold it looks like.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its the guys at the current RoadArmour that you need to be leery of.

Re: Who makes this bumper ?
Thanks for memory blast by posting my photo again. I made that image within the first hour of ownership, while still in the SMB showroom. What an extraordinary thrill that day was...
Sure am glad I never got caught up in all the crap that Road Armor might have stepped in. I got the bumper in mid '07 when the van was built. I had a good experience, and they built the bumper to my desires, different than the regular stock design. Here's the current view:

And somehow every picture it looks as spotless as that day, even in the back country. Do you just drive too fast for dirt, or what?
