So what happened when you hooked up that wire to the + terminal on the new alternator? I purchased the MG 300 amp altrenator and am in the process of installing it now and have the same issue.

JWA, is there any reason why your latest parts list wouldn't work on my 2001 E 350 7.3 van? I have the rear heat and AC on my van. Not sure where to hook into the vacuum line.
