I think a lot of it is spring. When we started shopping we couldn't find much and then early spring many came up for sale and we eventually found ours. The market dries up in winter. I'm surprised...

Re: Looking to buy a sportsmobile

When we were hunting I checked www.adhuntr.com (https://www.adhuntr.com) and https://claz.org/ daily. Sometimes vans will pop up on the classifieds of the expedition portal. Be ready to act...

Re: Montana Roadtrip

Thanks Carl. I actually just killed 35 minutes reading old threads on the subject. We spend a lot of time on gravel so I'm going to start playing with air pressures. Man I love this resource.

Re: Montana Roadtrip

Enjoyed your trip report. We really love it over in that area. Our break-in trip on our SMB was from Red Rock Preserve to the Ruby via the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forrest. Eventually we want to go back...

Re: Canadian Bears

It's said that a bear's sense of smell is 7 times that of a Bloodhound. My point being that no matter where you store the food scents linger. Even if you pull all the food out of your van you can't...

Re: Canadian Bears

Personally we camp often in grizzly country and now sleep like a baby with our Sportsmobile. When I was tenting.....I didn't sleep quite as well. Keep a clean campsite. Don't spill any food around...

Re: Grand Canyon Trip: North Rim, Point Sublime

What an awesome trip report to read and your photos are stunning. Horseshoe Bend brings back a lot of memories as we used to rent jet boats out of Lee's Ferry and run up river to fish. It's...

Re: Yellowstone

Mattador,

This may be to late if you already made your trip but don't neglect fishing Soda Butte right along the road by Slough Creek trailhead. Lots of Bison and fisherman but it's an excellent...

Re: Finally found our rig.

Thanks everyone and thanks edroid! I'm still working through the systems and getting a grasp on everything. Edroid took incredible care of this rig. :b5: Tomorrow the dog and I are headed into the...

Finally found our rig.

I'll never be able to justify this financially but we have zero regrets. Picked up our rig in Idaho this weekend and slowly fished our way back to Montana. Even fits in the garage with 1" to spare....

Viejo,

Sorry about the bad luck and being stranded in Bozeangeles. I'm out of town until the 13th but if your still stranded I can get you out on the water for a day while repairs are being made...

Re: Heading to Madison Rvr and Yellowstone

If outside of the park there are some good spots that are more secluded on the West Fork of the Madison. Another neat area near the Upper Madison are Cliff and Wade Lake (won't be alone here...

Re: What's with these prices!?!?!

All good advice and I've pretty much thrown economics out the window awhile ago. These rigs are a lifestyle choice not a wise investment. I'm on the fence with getting something cheaper with the...

Re: What's with these prices!?!?!

All practical advice....but that Aluminess looks so badass!

I'm still debating that option (2wd) and haven't ruled it out. I've made peace with the fact I might have to wait at least 1+ years to...

Re: What's with these prices!?!?!

Story of my life. I'm hunting very hard right now for a rig. Not sure if this is the new norm or buyers getting caught up in the summer season. The first rig on Sportsmobile West's website is just...

Re: Potential rig............

TexGX,

Thats kinda where I'm at with the V10. I'm a marine engineer so I have a love/hate relationship with diesels. That horse has obviously been beat on this forum but all those threads were...

Re: Potential rig............

Thanks guys,

I have toyed with the idea of making some improvements to a 2wd and haven't completely ruled it out. However, I'm pretty gun-shy of the 6.0. I've read threads where people haven't...

Re: Potential rig............

Well looks like someone already ahead of us in the offering process and I'm not certain this was "the one" for us any ways. Back to scouring the internet.

Re: Potential rig............

Thanks for the feedback. Pretty difficult to nail down a fair market value on these as prices seem to be all over the place. I think thats expected considering the uniqueness of each rig but it...

Potential rig............

Greetings,

I've been lurking/reading this forum extensively the past month or so. Now is probably the time for an introduction as the wife, lab, and I are looking for our first SMB. Seen quite a...
