Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

I have a few questions please...

1) Can you tell us which Henry product you used? http://www.homedepot.com/s/henry%2520elastomeric?NCNI-5 If it's not on that page, could you provide a link to the same stuff you used please?

2) Where do you buy dihydrogen monoxide and what was the consistency after thinning?

3) What kind of tint did you use?

4) Would you consider applying this to an entire body of a vehicle?

It would be awesome to see some photos.

A gallon did almost the entire floor of my SWB Chevy and was a bunch cheaper. Any elastomeric paint will work.

Careful wherever you end up sourcing it:
MSDS for dihydrogen monoxide

Gnarly! I bet they don't sell that stuff in California anyway.

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

Henry's roofing sealant is what it said on the can. I used about two tablespoons of ordinary paint tint.
Proper prepping is the key. Sandblast first if you can. I sanded and then wiped it down with mineral spirits. I may do the entire van in the future.

Thanks. Did you use Henry 289 White Roof Sealant? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Henry-0-90-G ... /100051524

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

Thanks again for replying. On this page at Home Depot http://www.homedepot.com/p/Henry-0-90-G ... =henry+289 it says in the Product Overview notes that it: "Must be covered with a reflective white coating (sold separately) to protect against UV degradation." Did you apply a UV barrier to it?

I know that you can pick up DHMO in California even though most of theirs is not sourced in state. A large portion comes in from Colorado.

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

After reading how vegasrandall used inexpensive roof coating to coat his trucks floor, I looked around a bit and it turns out that a few of the expensive bedliner coatings are elastomeric too.

Does anyone know the difference in performance (toughness, longevity, etc.) between cheap $20 per gallon elastomeric coating at Home Depot http://www.homedepot.com/p/ANViL-ROOF-T ... /204744375 and the far more expensive elastomeric bedliners like Line-X, GatorHyde, and GatorGuard?
