mmmm beer ...

Greetings from up north. Don't have an SMB (yet), currently driving an '89 VW Westy. But, I do drink beer, so I thought this would be a great place for my first post.

I'm with Velogeo regarding not limiting oneself to just one beer. Here are a few of my favourites:

Boundary Bay Brewing Imperial IPA - Bellingham, WA
Port Townsend Brewing IPA - Port Townsend, WA
Sailor Hagar's Bengal IPA - North Vancouver, BC
Tree Brewing Hop Head IPA - Kelowna, BC
Stone Ruination IPA - Escondido, CA

Little bit of a pattern there, anything with lots and lots o' hops!

I'm also fond of a good Belgian ale. Anything from Quebec's Unibroue is worth searching out. Also, Phillips Surly Blonde Belgian from Victoria, BC.

Course, right now I'm sipping on a Guinness. Slainte!

Brent

3) Anything from Stone Brewing Company
4) Alaskan Smoked Porter

More of a wine or spirits person, but if pressed:

Negro Modelo
Shinerbock
Anchor Steam
Sapporo dark

Heading into my first TX summer, I might not be so fussy come August.

From the hometown of the original modern microbrew (Kessler in 1981), our small local biz, the Blackfoot River Brewery does a great Steamboat Amber and a quite passable Organic Pale Ale.

The Blackfoot River Brewery boys have decided not to expensively expand into bottling, but instead to concentrate only on sales of kegs or growlers. So if you are going to drink it, it has to be local.

Now if I could only find room in the Sporty for several growlers...

A growler is a wondrous thing.

A growler is a gallon glass jug that you return and get washed and refilled.
