We also left the last rear section of roof in place for storage and for rigidity.
it also worked out for passing wires thru from the solar panels and the back up camera

Not the best lighting but you get some idea. The rear A/C was relocated up there to clean up the floor space, so that eats up half the space. The van is so well insulated that I rarely use the rear A/C driving even here in FL. I'd probably eliminate it if i where doing it again.

Here's a couple photos towards the rear of the van with a Fiberine top. I had them leave a section of roof back there for storage. This is the 2nd time I have done this on builds and it's a great space.

As far as the wood options go, how is the OSB fastened to the ceiling? Based on pics im seeing the side 1x6s for cabinets are molded in. But the OSB looks like its just glued to the ceiling. Im wondering if this is really worth an extra 600.00. Baltic birch slats going side to side in the areas that you would mount a rack or panels to seems more useful. That way you can screw ceiling boards/panels to them.

On our 20" aero top the wood is glassed in, both top and sides.

Oh maybe the pic I saw with it exposed was a DIY job. Typically OSB wont take a screw very well, does this change when cant expand due to the fiberglass?

I screwed 1"x2" stringers into mine, then screwed 1/8" plywood and 1/4" tongue and groove to that. Nothing has come loose yet, and I've put it through the wringer.
