I love my new BFG AT KO2's. Much better ride over Toyo AT tires, which also had tire failure (bulge) after 4 years and around 15K miles.

didn't know this but have been doing some tire research lately and BFG is owned by Michelin and their high end stuff is made in US or Canada. Glad things turned out ok for ya.

It was the older version of the tire that failed. I got the KO2's on now so I hope they last. We may take the van to Mammoth this week and I'll be curious to see how the new tires feel compared to the old ones. I've only driven it back from the tire shop so far.

I am using the newer version of the KO2īs (37x12.5-17 MT) on mine since 45000km hard offroad/worst roads ever trough Africa. I had now 6 punctures but could fix it. 4 of them was because of srews/iron parts and 2 of them where in the sidewalls (root and a dhorn).
My rig is 5200 kg/10500 lbs.
I am still a fan of BFG

5200 kg is closer to 11,500 lbs - that's a heavy rig!

My 95 460 SMB (RB like this one) weighed in at 10,800 fully loaded. These older rigs are heavy!!!

And a mere day and a half after commenting in the Toyo thread, the tread on my left front BFG appears to be working on delaminating.
I pulled onto the freeway and it felt like I was going way to fast on bad pavement. I also noted that the van pulled hard to the right if I didn't hang on to the wheel. Pulling off at the next exit revealed a tire that was no longer flat across:
I wasn't too far from home, so I limped it home on surface streets.
Hmm... Toyos or Continentals?

Wow! KO2s? How many miles? I’ll be replacing my KO2s in a couple months for an Oregon winter so I want to know.

Toyo got 45k out of my MT’s @ 50% tread still left. They just seem to get a little louder on the highway so sold them on CL. Went to BFG ko2 & they are the worst rock stone grabbers holders ever. I constantly have 3/4 minus stuck in them all the time. Guess I drive to much gravel... not a fan & will be changing soon. Guess I need MTs or a hybrid like nitro ridge grapplers.

I’m looking for something that has a good on road ride with some dirt road off-road capability but mostly great wet and snow traction. A snowflake traction rating is ideal.
